According to officials and a lawyer, twenty-three Canadian citizens who have been detained in northeast Syria in camps for family members of ISIS fighters.
The repatriation would be the biggest repatriation of ISIS family members in the history of Canada and it happens after the families sued the government, claiming the government of Canada was needed to repatriate the group under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
The foreign ministry recently announced the repatriation of six Canadian women and 13 infants.

According to Barbara Jackman, a lawyer representing one of the men, a court later ruled that four men seeking repatriation as part of the group must be sent back to Canada.
While talking about the decision of the court, Jackman said: “I’ve spoken to the parents, and they’re really, really happy.”
He added that the judge asked that the men be repatriated “as soon as reasonably possible.”
