Canada have qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and will participate in the tournament for the first time in 36 years.

John Herdman’s team defeated Jamaica 4-0 in their penultimate qualifying match.
Canada tops the CONCACAF qualifying group and have secured their place at a World Cup tournament for the first time since 1986.
Cyle Larin scored for Canada in the 13th minute after he received a pass from Stephen Eustaquio while Tajon Buchanan doubled Canada’s lead just before the end of the first half when a cross landed perfectly for him at the back post and he was able to convert it.

Junior Hoilett later sealed the victory by scoring the third goal late in the second half before Adrian Mariappa scored an own goal just before the final whistle.
When the match ended, BMO Field exploded as it became crystal clear that the Canadian men’s national team are on their way to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
