Arsenal starlet, Bukayo Saka, who was born to Nigerian parents, has been named English Premier League Young Player of the Year at the 2021 London Football Awards.
The 19-year-old English winger pipped Mason Mount, Declan Rice, Emile Smith Rowe, and Reece James to the award during a virtual ceremony that took place recently.
While receiving his award, the four-cap England international said: “I’m really happy to win this award.
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone for your support and of course another big thank you to everyone who voted for me.
“I promise to keep giving my all on the pitch to make you happy and keep you entertained.”
Saka, who has become a major player under the tutelage of coach Mikel Arteta is sure of making the England squad at Euro 2020 in the summer after an outstanding season for club and country.
The award nominees were selected by a panel of judges from football and media world, former players, major footballing bodies and sports media like The Evening Standard, Sky Sports, talkSPORT, BBC, and The Daily Telegraph.
