President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated President Xi Jinping on his third re-election as President and Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC).

While congratulating President Xi, Buhari noted that the relationship between China and Nigeria was established in 1971 and has grown tremendously under President Xi’s leadership in different areas including trade, politics, finance, telecommunications, agriculture, infrastructure, and manufacturing. He expressed optimism that this relationship will keep flourishing under President Xi’s re-established leadership.

Also, President Buhari stated his wish for the strategic partnership between Nigeria and China to continue to improve under President Xi’s leadership and extended his best wishes to the government of China and its people for continued progress and prosperity.
