The City of Brampton has revealed that new changes would be coming soon to the way credit card payments are made in the City.
From February 9, the City says it will stop accepting credit card information or payments over the phone, by email, or in-field payments. The City will also stop storing credit card information on its internal systems in a bid to keep residents’ payment information safe.
Brampton residents have been encouraged to use secure online payment options that are available on the website of the City or in-person at customer service counters, which accept cash, debit and credit cards.

While talking about the development, the City said: “The City of Brampton remains steadfast in its commitment to keeping the personal and sensitive data of our residents, businesses and customers safe.”
Service Brampton will keep providing payment processing services in-person at Brampton City Hall, or at Service Brampton counters (Cassie Campbell Community Centre, Gore Meadows Community Centre and Save Max Sports Centre).
Brampton residents can register for recreation programs and pay for facility rentals online using secure credit card payments or in-person at any registration location with cash, debit card, or credit card.
Payment options have not changed for Brampton Library, Brampton Transit, pay and display parking machines, ticket or fine payment, and City-run services.
