Manoharan Ponnuthurai, a Brampton man became Ontario’s newest multi-millionaire after he won a massive Lotto Max jackpot in December.
The OLG said Manoharan Ponnuthurai won the $70 million grand prize from the December 17, 2021 draw.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the OLG could not hold a traditional winner’s photo opportunity but released a pre-recorded interview with Ponnuthurai while receiving his cheque.
Ponnuthurai said: “I checked the ticket, and one, two, three, four numbers, I’m so shaky and I couldn’t continue.”
He said he asked his wife and kids to come and double-check the numbers with him, and they were so excited when they realized they’d won.
Ponnuthurai says he would buy a new home and travel more with his family.
He said he would love to visit Europe and travel to beachside destinations.
He said: “I’ve got everything. I feel like everything, I have now. What I wanted. My dream come true.”
