The family of Honor Blackman, who played Bond girl Pussy Galore, has announced her death. She died at the age of 94.
The actress who also played the famous villain in the Bond film Goldfinger of 1964 died at her home in Lewes, Sussex. She died of natural causes and was surrounded by family.
A statement which announced her death from the family read: “As well as being a much adored mother and grandmother, Honor was an actor of hugely prolific creative talent; with an extraordinary combination of beauty, brains and physical prowess, along with her unique voice and a dedicated work ethic she achieved an unparalleled iconic status in the world of film and entertainment and with absolute commitment to her craft and total professionalism in all her endeavours she contributed to some of the great films and theatre productions of our times.
“In conversation with her colleague and friend Richard Digby Day she looked back over her life, her beginnings, her family, her rise to stardom with her usual sense of humour and perspective.”
Some of Blackman’s roles included Hera in the Ray Harryhausen, Cathy Gale in The Avengers and Laura West on the TV series The Upper Hand.
Her career also spanned through and not too long ago, she performed in her show Honor Blackman at different venues across United Kingdom.
