Justin Trudeau’s office has announced that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and United States President, Joe Biden plan to meet in February. The meeting was decided upon during a recent conversation between the two leaders in which they agreed to team up in a bid to fight coronavirus in North America.
In a statement released recently, Trudeau’s office said: “The two leaders agreed to meet next month in order to advance the important work of renewing the deep and enduring friendship between Canada and the United States.”
In different statement, the White House revealed that both leaders talked about the “strategic importance of the US-Canada relationship” and discussed coming together on a lot of issues which include fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and tackling climate change.
The statement said Biden and Trudeau agreed to meet again next and did not reveal plans for a meeting.
Trudeau, who has always wanted to work with Biden and forget about the harsh Donald Trump’s reign happened to be the first foreign leader to converse with Biden since his inauguration.
According to a Canadian readout of the call “They discussed collaboration on vaccines and acknowledged that the two countries’ efforts are strengthened by existing exchanges of medical personnel and the flow of critical medical supplies.”
