The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Duoye Diri, has ordered a complete lockdown in the State following the announcement of first case of Coronavirus in the State.
The index case happens to be a 47-year-old woman with underlying health condition. The woman presented herself at the Specialist hospital in Yenagoa and she revealed she had battled with poor appetite, headache, fever, cough and chest pain for close to one week.
She said she did not travel out of the state and she has been transferred to the isolation centre in Okolobiri.
While declaring the total lockdown, Governor Diri said only essential workers, pharmaceuticals and foodstuff sellers are exempted from the lockdown.
