Barcelona Football Club has sacked Ronald Koeman as Head Coach after 14 months in charge.
After many weeks of speculation, Koeman’s last game was the recent 1-0 defeat by Rayo Vallecano, the club’s fourth defeat in six games in all competitions.
The club released a brief statement was released on its website to confirm that President Joan Laporta had relieved Koeman of his duties as its first-team coach.
Part of the statement read: “Ronald Koeman will say goodbye to the squad on Thursday at the Ciutat Esportiva.
“FC Barcelona wishes to thank him for his service to the club and wishes him all the best in his professional career.”
