The burial arrangement of famous Nollywood actor, Babatunde Omidina, also known as Baba Suwe, who died recently has been announced by his family.

Adesola Omidina, son of the late actor, disclosed that the burial would take place at his father’s Ikorodu, Lagos residence.

Baba Suwe died recently after a protracted undisclosed illness. He died at the age of 63.

His death was announced by his son his official Instagram handle.

While announcing Baba Suwe’s death, his son wrote: “This is to announce the sudden death of my father Mr Babatunde Omiidina. The legend and rare gem ‘Babasuwe’ 11/22/21; other details will follow shortly. May your soul rest in perfect peace Dad.”

Baba Suwe’s career started to nosedive in October 2011 following his arrest by officials of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, on the suspicion that he ingested many wraps of cocaine.

He was detained for 24 days at the NDLEA custody. He was granted bail by Justice Yetunde Idowu of the Ikeja High Court with the help of his lawyer, Late Babatunde Aturu.

He began to suffer several health complications after he was released by NDLEA

Baba Suwe was married to Omoladun Omidina, an actress who died in September 2009.

He started acting in 1971 and became popular after featuring in a movie titled ‘Omolasan.’

Baba Suwe featured and produced many Nigerian movies like Baba ‘Jaiye jaiye’, ‘2 ge 4’, ‘Baba Londoner’ and so on.

He is survived by three children, many grandchildren, and aged mother.
