Famous Nigerian actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, also known as Baba Ijesha will appear before the Lagos State Special Offences Court today over allegations of sexual molestation.
The hearing of the counts levelled against Baba Ijesha was initially fixed for September 27, 2021, but was later shifted to September 28, 2021.

In a message forwarded to newsmen, the state government had stated that: “Consequent upon the Legal year activities taking place on Monday 27th of September, 2021 fixed earlier for the continuation of hearing in the case of State Of Lagos Vs Olanrewaju James, the case would now hold on the following day which is Tuesday 28/9/21 for the continuation of hearing.”
The last hearing did not take place on August 11 because the judge was absent.
It was reliably gathered that the presiding judge, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, teamed up with other judges to observe the long vacation that ended in the third week of September.
Baba Ijesha has been making headlines recently over a child molestation case that was filed against him in April 2021 and was detained after his arrest on April 22.
On June 24th, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo granted him bail in the sum of N2 million and two sureties.
Baba Ijesha was charged with six-count charges of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault, which violate sections 259, 135, and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011, and 135, 263, and 262 Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
