According to Mayor Al Miller, many deaths were reported in an avalanche that occurred in southwest Invermere, British Columbia recently.
Al Miller said no fewer than nine people were involved in the avalanche and many deaths were reported, but the exact number has not been confirmed yet.
However, emergency officials disclosed that four people were rushed to hospital following an avalanche in the BC Interior recently.
The BC Emergency Health Services said crews were notified near Panorama Mountain Resort along the B.C.-Alberta border before noon.
