The persistent failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to attend presidential debates ahead of 2023 elections, still dominates issues in the polity.
Daniel Bwala, the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has accused the APC Presidential Campaign Council of keeping the former Lagos Governor away from debates like palliative.
Tinubu has encountered severe criticism as a result of his failure to attend presidential debates the way his counterparts in the opposition have done.
He had turned down Arise TV’s invitation to a town hall meeting, citing unneeded partisan interests in the organization of the event.
Speaking about the development in a recent tweet, Bwala challenged APC Campaign Council to present its flagbearer for public scrutiny.
The PDP chieftain noted that the former Lagos State Governor must be questioned by the Nigerian people so they could ascertain his suitability for the presidency.
He tweeted: “Hiding him like palliative is anti-democratic. All Nigerians want is for him to face the press and answer questions, because there are many questions he needs to answer to ascertain his suitability or otherwise for the job; not enough to say Emilokan. It is Questions- lokan.”
