The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared a “comprehensive and total” strike.
The strike was declared recently during a press conference by the President of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke.
Members of the union’s National Executive Council had held a series of meetings in the last 48 hours at the University of Lagos titled, ‘NEC for NEC.’
ASUU had informed and mobilised lecturers and students across Nigerian universities on why the union might likely embark on strike.
