Kano State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has made effort to challenge the results of the recently concluded governorship election in the state. The party has advised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the election inconclusive, citing an urgent need for a review of the election outcome.
At a recent press conference which took place in Kano State, APC leaders gave INEC a 7-day window to review the election, citing alleged irregularities. Abdul Fagge, the party’s legal adviser, criticized the INEC Returning Officer for ignoring the cancellation of votes triggered by violence, and only paying attention to those due to over-voting.
Fagge further revealed that justice could only be served to the electoral outcome if INEC reverses its final decision. The APC asked INEC to nullify the election results and revealed that they have already contacted INEC Headquarters.
