Antigua and Barbuda’s Keriann Thomas lifts title of Miss OECS 2022, by Stanley Ugagbe

22-year-old Miss Antigua and Barbuda, Keriann Thomas has defeated six other contestants to secure the title of Miss OECS 2022, which took place on November 5, 2022, at Old Mill Cultural Centre, Dominica.

Meanwhile, Kejean Smith – Miss Saint Lucia, became the first runner-up, while Reesa Mcintosh – Miss Grenada, became the second runner-up of Miss OECS Pagent 2022.

On her part, Kahnein Blanchette – Miss St Kitts and Nevis walked away with a fantastic performance and the award for Miss Photogenic.

Officials have it that seven beauties from around the Eastern Caribbean community competed for the Miss OECS title in Dominica on Saturday night. The Pageant came out of a hiatus of two years in 2019 when five ladies competed for the covetous title, at the time, last secured by the Pageant’s home country, Dominica.

The contestants of this year’s Miss OECS Pageant were: Celine Hodge (Anguilla), Keriann Thomas (Antigua), Shannon St. Hilaire (Dominica), Reesa Mcintosh (Grenada), Keya Providence (St Vincent and the Grenadines), Kejean Smith (Saint Lucia), Kahnein Blanchette (St Kitts and Nevis).

It is imperative to note that the Pageant winner, Keriann Thomas, was born on November 25 2000, in Antigua.

Thomas attended the halls of the Pares Secondary School and the Antigua State College. She achieved academic excellence through hard work and immense effort by earning a degree in Accounting.

She was motivated to enter the field of law enforcement at an early age and with this in mind and a desire to serve and protect, she enrolled at the Sir Wright F George Police Academy and began the journey towards becoming a caretaker and protector of liberty and Justice for Antiguans and Barbudans.

Remarkably, she became a police officer on October 15 2021, and on June 30 2022, she graduated from the Sir Wright F George Police Academy. Presently, Thomas is stationed at the All Saints Police Station in the C division, where she continues to learn and hone her skills in policing.

The beauty pageant captured the title of Miss Show off in 2018 and has entered the Miss Teenage and Miss Labour pageants. She involves herself in several worthwhile activities, including exercising, dancing, modelling, and Yoga.
