Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight fight with Kubrat Pulev has been rescheduled to take place at the earliest in October ahead of his fight with Tyson Fury in 2021.
The WBO, IBF and WBA heavyweight champion’s fight with IBF mandatory challenger Pulev was initially scheduled for June 20 at the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Stadium. However, the fight will now hold between October and December due to the persistent Coronavirus pandemic.
This development was confirmed by Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn. While confirming the development, Hearn said: “With everything going on and the fact we have no idea yet about when we will be allowed crowds, and what size crowds, it won’t be the summer.
“I think it will be in the window between October and December. Sooner would be better than later because we don’t want it to be a year between fights (Joshua beat Andy Ruiz in December).”
