Allotey Jacobs vows not to forgive NDC members who ‘betrayed’ him, by Stanley Ugagbe

Bernard Allotey Jacobs, a Ghanaian former Central Regional Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed not to forgive members of the party who allegedly betrayed him.

In his words, those he brought into the leadership of the NDC in the Central region sold him to his enemies when he was the regional minister.

In an interview with a Ghanaian news station, the enraged Jacobs stated that he is a Christian who believes in Moses’ law of an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and he would deal decisively with those that allegedly stabbed him in the back.

He said “When I won the election (to become the regional chairman of the NDC in the central region), I incorporated all the opposition members into the leadership of the party, and they totally betrayed the trust I had in them”

“I will never forgive them because I believe in the laws of Moses. Jesus Christ himself said He came to fulfil the laws of the prophets”.

It could be vividly recalled that in 2018, after serving for eight years as Central Regional Chairman of the ADC, Allotey decided not to go for the position again, noting that he was very bitter about the party for not carrying him along in the 2016 election campaign.

He said “I won’t contest again, I have my reasons. I have told you that I’m very bitter and I’ll not hide it. The way things went about, if I’m to voice out, it wouldn’t be good for the NDC party. If I contest, I’ll say a lot of things; it’s better I don’t contest and allow new faces to come out and leader the party”

“The party’s structures were sidelined prior to the 2016 election. They avoided the party’s structures, no funds, no T-shirts. I want somebody to come and tell me that I was given campaign materials or cash.

Recall that in May 2020, the leadership of the NDC in a statement signed by the National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo suspended Allotey for what they described as “persistent anti-party conduct”
