The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, has assured Nigerian traders in the West African country that his government would work in line with the resolutions reached during a meeting between Nigerian and Ghanaian lawmakers in Accra.
Akufo-Addo made this known when the Speaker of Ghanaian Parliament, Mike Oquaye, led Femi Gbajabiamila on a courtesy visit to his office at the Jubilee House, Accra.
During the meeting, Ghanaians resolved to relax the law that makes it mandatory for foreigners to have $1m capital base before operating a businesses in the country.
Gbajabiamila recently led a House delegation on a two-day diplomatic trip to Ghana in an effort to halt the tussle between the two countries.
The two countries had put in place modalities to resolve the dispute and created an enabling environment for foreign traders in the West African nation.
The Ghanaian President expressed his satisfaction with Gbajabiamila’s visit and proposed the creation of a Nigeria-Ghana Business Council for the two countries.
