Akindeinde Secures Patent For Blockchain-driven Authentication System

Dr. Oluseyi Akindeinde, a tech innovator originally from Nigeria, has recently obtained a patent for a cutting-edge Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) system driven by blockchain technology.

This groundbreaking MFA, named cipherKEY tap2sign™️, has been developed under the auspices of Hyperspace Technologies’ research and development (R&D) division.

It represents a pioneering security solution that capitalizes on the decentralized attributes of blockchain, the robustness of public/private key cryptography, and the convenience of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. cipherKEY tap2sign™️ MFA is poised to raise the bar in safeguarding against identity theft, phishing, and social engineering attacks.

Akindeinde is duly recognized as the mastermind behind this innovative MFA, which introduces an advanced level of security by necessitating multiple methods of authentication from distinct categories of credentials to validate a user’s identity.

The official patent application was submitted on June 22, 2023, and the patent certificate, as confirmed by our correspondent, was granted on August 28, 2023.

In the era of digital transformation, security is paramount. With individuals, businesses, and nations increasingly reliant on digital platforms for various activities, the demand for robust security measures has reached an all-time high. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) has emerged as a critical security system, requiring multiple authentication methods from independent credential categories to verify a user’s identity.

Today, Hyperspace Limited introduces cipherKEYtap2sign™️, an innovative MFA technology that leverages the security strengths of public/private keys, blockchain, Web3 technology, and contactless Near Field Communication (NFC) cards.

This system introduces the concept of “proof of possession” and adds a fourth authentication factor – “something you do.” In the case of cipherKEY tap2sign™️, the “something you have” is the cipherKEY NFC card, and the “something you do” is the action of tapping the cipherKEY NFC card against your phone. This unique combination of factors sets thetap2sign™️ system apart, offering exceptional security and user-friendliness.

Before securing the patent, this blockchain-driven MFA system underwent rigorous reviews and testing procedures.

In a press statement provided to newsmen, Akindeinde revealed that his motivation for creating this MFA system stemmed from his advocacy for blockchain-driven authentication processes.

He elaborated, “In a world where our digital identities are increasingly under threat, where a single misstep can compromise your entire network, where every transaction we make leaves us vulnerable, we understand your concern. We understand the sleepless nights. And that’s why we’ve spent years developing cipherKEYtap2sign™️ MFA – your impenetrable solution to security threats.

“Imagine a wall. A wall so high and so robust, nothing unauthorized can get over it, under it, or through it. That wall is the cipherKEY tap2sign™️ MFA, and we have designed it to protect what matters most to you – your identity, your data, your peace of mind.”
