The pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to make urgent effort to address the increasing cost of living in the country.
In a statement released by its spokesman, Jare Ajayi, the group appealed to the president to prevail on government agencies and institutions not to increase the prices of commodities and services.

The group stressed that the planned increase in electricity tariff and the introduction of fees for proof of ownership certificate for vehicle owners would make the precarious situation of hapless Nigerians worse.
Afenifere advised Tinubu to check steps capable of alienating his administration from Nigerians.
The organization urged the president to be mindful of actions by government agencies and parastatals that could destroy his good intentions for Nigerians.
