Former AS Roma coach, Jose Mourinho, has asked Jose Peseiro, Super Eagles’ head coach, to become the first Portuguese coach to win the Africa Cup of Nations.
Mourinho made this known while speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast.
He said Peseiro is his best friend in football and he hopes he (Peseiro) becomes the first coach from Portugal to win the AFCON.
He said: “My best friend in football is in the final (AFCON).
“The Nigerian coach is my best friend. He grew up with me, we studied together. We went to University on the same day, we spent five years together every day.
“We left at the same time, he is probably my best friend in football and for him a big opportunity to make history, because never before a Portuguese coach win the AFCON.”
