The Nigerian High Commissioner to Canada, Ambassador Adeyinka Asekun, has said that Nigerians living in Canada will soon be able to apply for 10-year passport leaflets.

He said this recently in Ottawa during Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s interactive session with some leaders of Nigerian groups across Canadian provinces.
He made it known that Canada would be the third country to roll out the process after the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
During the interactive session, leaders of Nigerian communities and Canadian government officials praised the Nigerian High Commissioner with some saying he is a “father figure” that is passionate about education and cooperation between universities in Canada and Nigeria.
Also, others commended the improvement in the passport renewal process and the way Ambassador Asekun has tried to keep in touch with Nigerians across the provinces in Canada.

Furthermore, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Rob Oliphant, commended the High Commissioner and noted that he has been an effective representative of Nigeria who maintains very close connections with members of the Canadian government.
