In the last 31 days, Brampton and Mississauga have witnessed an average of two robberies per day.
Between June 15 to July 16 2023, Peel Regional Police data reveals that there were a total of 55 robberies reported across both cities — 30 in Brampton and 25 in Mississauga.
17 of the robberies were executed with guns, 17 robberies with other weapons while 21 were listed simply as “other” by police.
21 of these incidents have been solved, while the other 34 are still being investigated as of July 16, 2023.
The data doesn’t reveal how many arrests were made or injuries reported in connection with these robberies.
According to Peel Regional Police data, the robberies took place mostly on Bramalea Rd and Main St.
Brampton and Mississauga keep encountering armed robberies on a regular basis, including a recent one where two men broke into an apartment in a high-rise building in Mississauga and instantly demanded cash and valuables from the two residents with the use of imitation firearms.
Businesses are also being targeted by the offenders and according to Police, the crimes of most concern for businesses are frauds, break-ins, thefts and cyber frauds.
