The heavyweight battle between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder’s has been postponed after Fury contracted COVID-19.
Fury and Wilder were set to fight for the third time in Las Vegas on 24 July 2021, with the first fight ending as a split draw in December 2018 while Fury defeated Wilder in the seventh round in February 2020.
Fury had initially agreed on a deal to take on Anthony Joshua this summer, but an arbitrator ruled in May that Fury has contractual obligation to face Wilder once more by September.

The third fight of Fury against his American rival will now take place on October 9.
While talking about the postponed fight, Fury said: “I want nothing more than to smash the ‘Big Dosser’ on 24 July, but I guess the beating will have to wait. Make no mistake, I will be back and better than ever. We will fight 9 October and I will knock him spark out.”
The manager of Wilder, Shelly Finkel said: “This is what we went to arbitration for. He just wanted what was owed to him. He remains ready to reclaim his world title on 9 October.”
