The Twitter account of former President of United States, Donald Trump, will be banned forever, whether he contests for president again in 2024 or not.
During an interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box, the Chief Financial Officer of Twitter, Ned Segal, was asked if Twitter would restore Trump’s account if he recontests and wins in 2014.
Segal replied by saying that the ban would be permanent, even if Trump becomes president again.
He said: “The way our policies work, when you’re removed from the platform, you’re removed from the platform whether you’re a commentator, you’re a CFO or you are a former or current public official.
“Our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence, and if anybody does that, we would have to remove them from the service and our policies don’t allow people to come back.”
“So, no?,” Squawk Box host, Rebecca Quick uttered.
Segal said: “He was removed when he was president, and there’d be no difference for anybody who [was] a public official once they’ve been removed from the service.”
Also, Segal confirmed that the rules would apply to every public office holder that was banned from Twitter for reasons similar to that of Trump.
