Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination is no longer needed at most restaurants, gyms and movie theatres in Ontario while nightclubs, sporting and concert venues can eradicate capacity limits and restrictions lift on social gathering sizes.
Ontario is ending nearly all its major COVID-19 public health measures today but Premier Doug Ford has revealed that mask mandates would likely be in place for at least two weeks.
Hospitalizations induced by COVID-19 and test positivity rates have decreased greatly from the January peak of the wave of Omicron, though wastewater data hints that cases may rise again.

Ford revealed that the vaccine certificate system was a time-limited measure and he is removing it now because of the advice of the Chief Medical Officer of Health Canada. He advises Canadians to still exercise caution because the pandemic has not ended.
Venues like sports arenas, concert venues, theatres, nightclubs, and restaurants that had capacity limits in place can now scrap those restrictions.
Also, settings with capacity limited to the number of people that could maintain two metres of distance – including weddings and funerals, retail shops, pharmacies and grocery stores – can scarp that requirement.

Every COVID-19 measure except masking is also ending in the provincial legislature. This means that representatives will no longer be grouped into cohorts and full attendance will be permitted at debates, committees and other legislative matters.
