The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has said the planned mass protest scheduled for Monday September 28 would hold in spite of a recent court order that was obtained by the Federal Government, barring them and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) from carrying out their planned strike.
The General Secretary of the organized labour, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja told its members in a communique addressed to them to come out end masse to protest against the hike in fuel price and electricity tarrif.
All National Leadership of affiliates in Abuja were asked to mobilise a minimum of 2000 of their members to Unity Fountain, Abuja for the rally which starts at 7am.
Also, affiliates are expected to mobilise equal number of members to the NLC Sub-Secretariat, 29, Olajuwon Street, Yaba, Lagos, which is the starting point for the Lagos action at 7am too.
As expected, Presidents and General Secretaries will lead and identify with their members at the each convergence point.
