Tunde Onakoya, the founder of Chess in Slums, achieved a remarkable feat during a recent conference in Germany by challenging and defeating 10 opponents simultaneously in a dynamic game of chess.
In an impressive display of skill and strategy, Onakoya engaged in intense matches against each player for approximately two hours. Despite the formidable challenge, he emerged victorious against all of his opponents, showcasing his mastery of the game.
Onakoya’s primary aim was to raise funds for the education of 100 children in his foundation, and his success in the simultaneous chess exhibition contributed significantly to this cause. Following his triumphant performance, Onakoya took to the X platform to share his achievement and express gratitude for the support received.
“On day two of the DLD conference, I played a simultaneous chess match against 10 players at once. After an almost two-hour battle of wits, I managed to win all the games. The chess exhibition helped us raise enough money to support the education of 100 children in our academy,” he wrote, reflecting on the impactful outcome of the event.
Onakoya’s impressive display not only highlighted his exceptional talent in chess but also served as a source of pride and inspiration for his country and the Chess in Slums community.
