Klasha, a Nigerian global cross-border payments company, has announced that it has been granted a Money Services Business (MSB) license by the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC). This license permits Klasha to operate as a money services business in Canada.
The MSB license granted to Klasha is a significant milestone for the company’s H2 growth strategy. By getting this license, Klasha can now offer financial services to businesses that want to accept payments from or send payments into Africa, apart from its foreign exchange transactions and payment processing.
The acquisition of the licence is in line with the company’s mission to facilitate seamless online cross-border payments between Africa and the rest of the world by offering seamless, fast, and accessible online payment solutions.

While reacting to the development, Jess Anuna, the CEO of the company said: “We’re thrilled to have obtained the MSB license from FINTRAC. This license enables us to operate from Canada, allowing us to reach more global merchants who want to accept payments or send payments into Africa.
“This represents a significant step towards expanding our footprint and delivering our cutting-edge payment services to merchants in one of the world’s most dynamic economies.’’
Klasha has been providing cross-border payment services in Africa since 2021 and has risen fast to become a major player in the market. Currently, the company serves over 2500 merchants in six different African countries and is a licensed PSP in multiple African countries.
