Toronto Mayor John Tory has announced that he will seek a third term as the Mayor of the most populous city in Canada.
The announcement ends months of talks about whether Tory would contest for election this fall.

While making the announcement, Tory said he was contesting again because he believes Toronto needs “an experienced leader” to guide Toronto out of the pandemic.
Tory was first elected as Toronto Mayor in 2014 when he garnered 40 percent of the vote and replaced former Mayor Rob Ford.

He won his second term with over 60 percent of the vote.
Municipal elections in Ontario will hold on October 24.
