GO Transit bus service will resume today in Brampton, Mississauga, Hamilton and southern Ontario after the union which represents striking workers reached an agreement with their employer.
Over 2,200 GO operators, attendants, maintenance workers and other members of staff stopped working, propelling the suspension of regional bus service across the Greater Golden Horseshoe.

The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1587, the union representing the workers, announced recently that it had reached a tentative deal with Metrolinx, which operates GO Transit.
According to the union, the deal addresses its concerns about safety and contracting-out issues, as such, members are expected to vote to approve the contract.
Metrolinx disclosed it was pleased the two sides were able to reach the tentative three-year agreement.
