Environment Canada has confirmed that a tornado with wind speeds of around 110 kilometres per hour moved over the University of British Columbia in Vancouver recently.

The confirmation came after a survey of the disaster, which discovered broken and uprooted trees, damaged power lines, debris and a vehicle that was damaged.
An update released recently says the initial rating of EF0, which happens to be the lowest on the Fujita tornado scale, will likely change if more updates become available.
Environment Canada had earlier announced a tornado over the Strait of Georgia, west of the Vancouver International Airport at around 5 p.m. on November 6.
According to the weather office, the storm swept over a part of the University of B.C. campus, where there is the diversion of buses, pedestrians and cyclists from a major access road that was still being cleared of fallen branches and trees.
Nobody was hurt and the Environment Canada tornado watch was immediately lifted.
