A Canadian soldier who publicly condemned federal vaccine requirements while in uniform has been charged.

According to the Department of National Defence, Warrant Officer James Topp faces two charges of conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline.
A charge sheet tendered by Topp’s lawyer, Phillip Millar, reveals the army reservist facing the accusation of condemning vaccine requirements for military personnel and other federal employees on two occasions in February while in uniform.
These include a video shared on social media and public comments made in Surrey, B.C.
Members of the Canadian Armed Forces have restrictions on what they can say while in uniform, but Millar argues such restrictions should not be applied to policies that personally affect them.

The spokeswoman of the Defence Department, Jessica Lamirande, says a second Armed Forces member charged with the same offence was fined $500 fine after he was found guilty.
