Canada borders reopened to fully vaccinated international travellers

The borders of Canada have been reopened to fully vaccinated travellers.

International travellers that have received at least two doses of a Health Canada authorized COVID-19 vaccine are now permitted in Canada for the first time since the pandemic started.

Foreign travellers that are fully vaccinated will no longer need to quarantine for 14 days when they arrive.

Meanwhile, Canada has approved four COVID-19vaccines for travel. The vaccines are Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and AstraZeneca.

This implies that Visitors can come into Canada through land or air borders as long as they’ve run a pre-arrival COVID-19 test and submitted their documents through the ArriveCAN app. Travellers will not need to run another COVID-19 test when they arrive in Canada unless they’ve been randomly selected.

Meanwhile, the ban on direct flights from India has been extended till September 21 due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the country. Travellers that are coming to Canada from an indirect route will still need to get a negative pre-departure COVID-19 molecular test from a country other than India before they land in Canada.

International visitors with children and kids that are not vaccinated kids (under the age of 12) travelling with parents or guardians will be exempted from the 14-day quarantine but they must meet all COVID-19 testing requirements.

Every unvaccinated child will be required to be included with their parents or guardian passengers in the AriveCAN app submission.

Children who fall between the ages of 12 and 17 will follow every testing and quarantine requirement, even if they are accompanied by adults that have been fully vaccinated.
