The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Senator Andy Uba as winner of the Anambra governorship primary of party which took place recently in the state.
Controversies have trailed the primary as about 11 other aspirants complained of irregularities and called for the primary to be cancelled.
During the Primary, Andy Uba, a former Senator was declared the winner of the party’s primary.

11 out of the 14 APC governorship aspirants said the primary did not hold in the state.
The spokesperson of the contestants, George Moghalu, made the position of the aspirants known in a recent press conference in Awka.
According to Moghalu, none of the APC team was saddled with the responsibility of conducting the primary and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials were seen during the primary.
He further disclosed the fraudulent conduct of the primary by saying he does not wish APC well in the forthcoming election.
However, the final result of the Primary has been announced by the chairman of the primary election panel and governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, at Golden Tulip Hotel, Awka.
While announcing the result, Dapo Abiodun said Mr Uba emerged winner with 230,201 votes while his closest competitor, Johnbosco Onunkwo had 28,746 votes.

The governor said the total vote cast was 348,490.
