Twitter has suspended an account that was sharing posts from former United States President Donald Trump’s newly launched communications platform.
The account with handle @DJTDesk, claimed to be tweeting “on behalf” of Donald Trump after he launched his own communications platform titled “From the Desk of Donald J Trump.”
While talking about the development, Twitter’s spokesperson said the account, @DJTDesk, contravened the ban evasion policy by sharing content “affiliated with a suspended account.”
The account was suspended some hours after it was created on Twitter.
The account’s bio read: “Posts copied from Save America on behalf of the 45th POTUS; Originally composed
via DonaldJTrump/Desk”.
In his reaction to the development, Trump’s spokesman, Jason Miller, told NBC News that the @DJTDesk account was not created by, or with the permission of, anyone affiliated with Donald Trump.
Trump says his newly created communication platform, The Desk of Donald J Trump, will host statements and press releases from the former president.
Also, visitors to the site will be able to like posts and share them on their Twitter and Facebook accounts – as long as the posts don’t violate the sites’ rules.
