South Korea’s Foreign Minister, Chung Eui-yong talked to his Canadian counterpart, Marc Garneau, on phone recently and discussed modalities of enhancing bilateral relations, the Foreign Ministry of South Korea said.
The ministry made it known that during the conversation, the ministers agreed to work closely together in fighting global challenges like the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change as “responsible middle powers and strategic partners that share the values of democracy and free trade.”
Also, both sides agreed to look into ways of strengthening economic cooperation which includes areas like artificial intelligence (AI) and others areas related to the fourth industrial revolution.
The Ministry revealed further that Chung requested for Canada’s unflinching support and cooperation for the peace process on the Korean Peninsula.
