The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission have announced that it had given approval to the price increase for all (low and high energy) consumer classes with it mediate effect.
Nigerians have reacted to this unpleasant development on social media, saying the increase came just two months after the government jerked up the electricity price in November 2020 amid covid-19 pandemic, rising insecurity, and high poverty rate in the country.
