The Academic Staff Union of University ASUU has announced it has suspended its ten-month-old strike that commenced in March 2020.
The announcement was made by ASUU National President, Biodun Ogunyemi, during a recent briefing of the union in Abuja.
While making the announcement, Ogunyemi warned that the union would embark on another round of strike action if the government does not meet its part of the agreement it reached with the university lecturers before the strike was be called off.
He said that the reopening of schools amid COVID-19 pandemic will be decided by the Federal Government and Senate.
