Famous Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abbas, also known as “Hushpuppi“ has been arraigned in a California court ahead of his trial on October 13.

The 37-year-old Nigerian was accused of being the ring leader of a group that perpetrates computer intrusion, business email compromise (BEC) fraud and money laundering. He has pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering conspiracies, international money laundering and engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from specified illegal activity.

As reported by Premium Times, the prosecutors started the process of arraignment by filling necessary documents and forms after Hushpuppi’s first appearance recently.

Hushpuppi entered a plea and insisted that he is not guilty of the charges.

He will be represented in court by Vicki Podberesky, a highly rated lawyer in California and Gal Pissetzky, a Chicago-based lawyer who is appearing pro hac vice because he is not certified to practice outside Chicago.

Also, it was gathered that Hushpuppi requested that he should be prosecuted with complaint and not indictment.
