Primary and secondary schools in Lagos State are to reopen on August 3, but only pupils in primary six, JSS 3, and SS3 will resume.
This was announced after a recent meeting held by officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Education and some stakeholders in the sector.
It was gathered that the Department of Quality Assurance in the ministry mandated all public and private schools to fill an online assessment form and state their level of preparedness to meet conditions outlined for school reopening by the Federal Ministry of Education during the meeting.
Also, the Department of Quality Assurance in the ministry stated that any school that meets the outlined conditions for reopening by the Federal Ministry of Education will be given clearance for it to reopen.
While reacting to the development, Lagos State President of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) said that his association had also put in place a Quality Assurance Committee to move round schools and assess the readiness of members and showed optimism that most members would meet the requirements for schools reopening.
