According to information, the Premier of Quebec, Francois Legault is at the verge of making a major cabinet shuffle that involves several senior ministers.
Danielle McCann, who headed the province’s Health Department through the COVID-19 pandemic will no longer be the health minister but will take over part of the portfolio of education minister.
McCann will be made Minister of Higher Education while Education Minister Jean-Francois Roberge will now be solely responsible for the primary and secondary school systems.
The Chairman of Treasury Board, Christian Dube is expected to take over from McCann and run the province’s biggest department. He will be replaced by Justice Minister, Sonia LeBel.
Minister of Immigration, Simon Jolin-Barrette who led the major legislative changes of government on secularism and immigration reduction will take over Ministry of Justice.
The Minister of International Relations, Nadine Girault will retain her portfolio and will also take on the immigration file.
