Social Development Partnerships Program – Supporting Black Canadian Communities Call for Proposals

The Supporting Black Canadian Communities Call for Proposals (CFP) offers monetary assistance to Black organizations in Canada to build capacity to better fulfill their missions and better serve Black communities in Canada.

Black-led Not-for-Profit organizations can apply for up to $100,000 for equipment purchases for work or community spaces and/or renovations or retrofits of workspaces or community spaces to improve their functionality

Eligible organizations are Black-led organizations that have a mandate that is Black-focused and are legal entities that are not-for-profit organizations in Canada.

As an applicant, you must prove that your organization is Black-led. Meaning that the leadership positions of your organization are majorly Blacks, the governance structure is primarily composed of people who self-identify as Black and your mandate supports members of the Black community

Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:

Organization’s mandate.
Project description.
Project impact.
Project costs.

The documents to send are completed application form, digital image of the community or workspace you want to improve and cost estimate of the project.

Kindly note that all projects must be completed in approximately 12 months.

Applications can be made online via https://canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/funding/supporting-black-communities.html or by sending the required documents through email to EDSC.ACNC-SBCC.ESDC@canada.gc.ca

Application period

Applications can be made between June 26, 2020 and July 27, 2020 at 3:00 pm Eastern daylight time (EDT).

Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) will shortlist fund recipients in late September 2020.
