Hydro-Québec has revealed crews are currently on ground working on bringing back power to thousands of customers in southern Quebec after heavy storms generated about 300 service interruptions.
At the peak of the storm around 7 p.m, about 80,000 customers lost electricity. In Montreal, 86 service interruptions affected over 25,000 customers.
Hydro-Québec crews across the province have been able to bring back power to over 20,000 customers under a few hours but the numbers will fluctuate till the storms subside.
While talking about the power outage, the spokesperson of Hydro-Québec, Cendrix Bouchard could not predict when the outage will be completely over.
Bouchard said: “Really what happened is, strong winds, many different storm cells. Sometimes what we will see in summer is one big storm system that will sweep through the province.
“We do have a lot of people on the ground and will bring some if need be.”
