The planned evacuation of Nigerians in Diaspora amid coronavirus pandemic will commence this week. The evacuation is happening after weeks of data collation and running COVID-19 tests.
This development was announced by the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, via her Twitter handle this morning.
While making the announcement, she tweeted: ”Planned evacuation of Nigerians begins from this week. UAE. UK. USA etc. All applicants should please check with the various missions for updates and protocols to abide by. May the Lord heal the world.”
It should be recalled that the Federal Government announced in April that plans were in place to repatriate Nigerians abroad who have requested to be taken back home owing to the pandemic.
Conditions for the repatriation include them to subject themselves to coronavirus tests in their countries of residence, foot their flight ticket bills and agree to be Isolated for 14 days when they arrive Nigeria.
