Shirley Douglas’s son, Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer in “24”) has announced that her mother died yesterday at the age of 86.
While making the announcement, Kiefer revealed that his mum did not die of Coronavirus disease but she died after a battle with pneumonia.
Kiefer said: “My mother was an extraordinary woman who led an extraordinary life. Sadly she had been battling for her health for quite some time and we, as a family, knew this day was coming.”
Douglas’s acting career happened in Canada and Hollywood. During her career, she worked with top movie directors like David Cronenberg and Stanley Kubrick.
Apart from acting, she took part in campaign for several progressive causes like Black Panthers and Civil rights movement. She later defended Canada’s public health care system.
