No fewer than 84,000 indigenes of Kano State are set to benefit from Federal Government’s N20,000 palliative.
This disclosure was made by the National Coordinator of the Programme, Dr.Temitope Sinkaiye. While making the disclosure, Dr. Sinkaiye made it known that N1.6b would be distributed to 84,000 beneficiaries across 15 Local Government Areas in the state.
She disclosed further that each beneficiary is expected to get Twenty Thousand Naira when the exercise commences today.
She revealed that since the advent of the Programme, they had not lacked fund due to the fact that Federal Government made adequate provisions through a World Bank loan.
She however added that the beneficiaries must imbibe the culture of group savings and create small scale businesses.
She disclosed further that as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the beneficiaries will be sensitized about the dreaded disease.
She said: “We observe social distancing so that by the time they go back, they will guide other members of their community on how to protect themselves and stay healthy.”
