The President of United States, Donald Trump, has declared that he will not wear any face mask.
Trump made this declaration despite the current medical advise that Americans should wear face masks. According to Trump, greeting “presidents, prime ministers, dictators, kings, queens” in the Oval Office while putting on a face mask doesn’t look nice to him.
He said the medical advise issued last Friday by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention on face mask wearing in the United States is voluntary.
He said: “You do not have to do it. I don’t think I’m going to be doing it.
“Sitting in the Oval Office… I somehow don’t see it for myself.”
There are 278,458 cases of COVID-19 and over 7,000 deaths resulting from COVID-19 have been confirmed in the United States alone.
New York State is the worst hit area, with around 3,000 deaths. The huge death record has prompted the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo to appeal for help in other areas of the country.
